A good fire, lots and lots of firewood, gluhwein, and………… chocolate!  The chickpea and ham soup is not compulsory. 😉

  1. We have taken our wood drying a step further and are using Brunhilda’s lower warming ovens to dehydrate some recently damp wood…a good production line so long as you remember to replace it ;). LOTS of stovetop cooking going on here and last night we took those 4 deceased roosters (SO much quieter now!) and turned them (well…the meaty bit taken from the stock carcasses) into delectable chook pies with homemade butter shortcrust and veggies. Stevie-boy pronounced them “Delicious!” not bad for roosters that were over a year old…you just have to cook them right 🙂
