The general concensus in the local bar, which should always be highly valued, is that I may not have access to La Carossa for another three weeks, provided it does not snow again in three weeks.

BRISCOLA NEL BAR
Briscola played in the bars while waiting for dinner to be served is a populat pastime here in Castelnuovo. Yesterday evening while playing, it dawned on me that I am, by age, the younger of the group by about 20 years, which urged me to jump up, run outside and start working. I soon realised that spending most of my adult life in Australia and New Zealand I am physically and menally perhaps not up to their level any more, which made me the elder in the group. Hence, I dropped back in my seat and dealt another round of cards while sipping my grappa, contemplating.
