  1. The only form of “truffle” that I have ever eaten is truffle oil, and as we both know, most truffle oils are manufactured using synthetic sources. I bought some truffle salt a few years ago but it just tasted like salt. I think I was gipped! What a magnificent specimen and how crazy we humans are to spend SO much money on something that feeds on decomposing tree litter 😉

    • I have a very good friend living in San Benedetto del Tronto and me living close to Milan, I fortunately have to pass close to Acqualagna every time we visit. Even though many people would say Alba is the truffle capital of the world, Acqualagna is definitely up there. We have been going to the same, very small, restaurant for decades and it is, and always will be, an unforgettable experience.
